Welcome to My Favourite Board Games

I started writing about board games in Netopics, but decided that I like this topic so much, that it would be better to have a blog dedicated to it.

I started with what is arguebly the best of all board games in modern history: Monopoly.

There is a lot to say about board games and, if you're interested in that topic, I'm sure you'll find a lot of interesting information in this blog.

You should consider subscribing to this blog. It's free, and I promise I won't pass your contact details to anyone. I have a strict privacy policy: I don't share, sell, lease, lend or give away the contact details of my subscribers.

Board games have apparently suffered a decline since video games came into the picture. However, companies like Hasbro continue profiting from classic games like Monopoly, Scrabble, The Game of Life, Cluedo and the like.

What is so appealing about board games? It may be the fact that it brings people together, especially families. And depending on the game, it may also be good to learn/teach important skills in a non-threatening environment (unless, of course, you play with a ruthless Monopoly player who takes no prisoners, and takes the winning mission too seriously!).

I hope you enjoy this blog.

Let me know if you have a special request for a topic in My Favourite Board Games.

Well, with a ranking of 2196 on Boardgamegeek, a lot of people disagree.

There's a lot more to boardgames than Monopoly, Scrabble, Twister and Boggle. You might want to take a look around BGG. You might also want to try Puerto Rico, which is ranked number 1 on that site. It's a great game.
