Spy Board Games: The Man From U.N.C.L.E Game
Greetings!
What do board games and spies have in common? Well, there is a number of spy-themed board games out there, and I started looking at a couple this weekend. One of them was based on a 1960s American TV show called "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.".
If you're an X-generation person, or even a baby boomer, you'll remember the TV series. It was a reflection of the Cold War political tension at the time.
Actually, I found a couple of games based on this TV show. The first one is called "The Man From U.N.C.L.E Game", and it was manufactured by Ideal Novelty & Toy Co back in 1965.
Thanks to Billy, from www.BillyGalaxy.com (a new window will open), for giving me permission to use his pictures of the game:
The game used to come with 2 dice, 4 coloured U.N.C.L.E. agent tokes, 18 U.N.C.L.E. assignment cards, 28 green Thrush tokens, and game inserts.
The second game is a card game manufactured by Milton Bradley at about the same time (1965). This one can get you between $5 to $30 USD depending on the condition, demand and availability.
These are pictures of the Card Game:
Yours in Fun,
Jeff
